After a Burger King employee posted a photo of themselves or a colleague stepping on a tub of lettuce accompanied by the warning "this is the lettuce you eat at Burger King," 4chan users immediately jumped on the opportunity to ferret out the location of the OP's branch for great justice.

Using the photo's Exif data, anons were able to quickly zero in on the address of the Burger King in question: 1475 Worton Boulevard, Mayfield Heights, OH.

The next phase of the operation involved notifying local media via social networking sites.

Cleveland Scene picked up the story yesterday morning and contacted the branch to ask about the employee. "Whoever this is is getting fired," said shift manager Andrea. "And whoever the manager was at the time will be fired, too."

The Huffington Post contacted the same branch and were told the person responsible was a long-time employee and this was their first disciplinary incident (and, subsequently, their last).

Burger King eventually released a proper corporate statement addressing the matter, insisting that "food safety is a top priority at all Burger King restaurants and the company maintains a zero-tolerance policy against any violations such as the one in question."

The statement went on to confirm that "the franchisee has taken swift action to investigate this matter and terminated the employee involved in this incident."
