A Washington DC police officer who has worked the security detail for White House officials allegedly threatened to shoot Michelle Obama. The threat, which was overheard Wednesday morning, is currently under investigation by the DC police's Internal Affairs Division, and the Secret Service has been notified. In the meantime, the officer has been placed on administrative duty.

According to officials, the police officer was overheard making the threat and witnesses saw him using his phone to show a picture of the gun he planned to use. Another officer who overheard the threat reported it to a superior. Gwendolyn Crump, the DC police spokeswoman, acknowledged the incident in an email, writing, "We received an allegation that inappropriate comments were made. We are currently investigating the nature of those comments," but refused to elaborate.

Despite the threat, there's no evidence that the First Lady was ever in actual danger.
