No real surprise here, but Louis C.K.'s groundbreaking ticket sales experiment was a resounding success.

Eliminating service charges and sales taxes by selling tickets to his upcoming standup tour direct to fans, the comedian was able to offer seats for the low-low across-the-board price of just $45.

"Well," he tweeted yesterday evening, "after 45 hours, my tour has sold 100K tickets, box office gross of 4.5 mil $ (not all mine). I guess it was a good idea."

Most of the 39-city stops have already sold out, though a few more shows are being added. Asked why he was skipping certain cities, C.K. replied: "[Probably] all theaters in your town won't allow our tix service. Or your town sux. JK."

This is C.K.'s second "crowdfunding" bonanza: He previously made over one million dollars in 12 days selling his latest comedy special, "Live at the Beacon," for just $5 through his website.

C.K.'s TV series Louie returns to FX tonight at 10:30 PM ET.
