Recent reports by the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea estimate that some 200,000 people may be currently imprisoned in one of North Korea's infamous concentration camps, and that as many as 400,000 may have perished in these vast compounds as a result of torture, execution, and the inhumane condition inmates are subjected to on a regular basis.

Few have survived the worst of these camps, and fewer still have managed to recount their treatment inside the camps to foreigners.

Several survivors who were able to defect from North Korea captured scenes from daily life inside the camps using illustrations that depict the unimaginable cruelty they endured. A Korean-speaking Redditor translated several of the illustrations, but a few additional drawings that don't require explanation can be seen at the source.
