Notable Canadian game show host Alex Trebek suffered a minor heart attack yesterday. He is already on the mend, but remains under observation at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Today, Sony Pictures Television released a statement about Trebek's condition.

He is expected to fully recover and be back at Jeopardy! when production begins taping in July for the new season, the show's 29th.

According to the release, he is "in good spirits," presumably over-pronouncing a lot of foreign words.

The 71-year-old Jeopardy! host has talked about retiring — after all, he's had this gig since 1984. But he'll be trading answers for questions at least through 2014, which is when his current contract runs out.
