George Zimmerman's Wife Charged with Perjury, Joins Him In Jail
Shellie Zimmerman, the wife of Trayvon Martin's killer George Zimmerman, was charged today with lying to a judge about her husband's finances at his bond hearing.
Prosecutors claim Ms. Zimmerman lied "in order to conceal about $135,000 from the court."
She was arrested this afternoon and booked into Sanford's John E. Polk Correctional Facility on a perjury charge. Her bond was set at $1,000, and she is expected to be released shortly.
Earlier this month Mr. Zimmerman, who is charged with second-degree murder, was ordered to return to the same correctional facility after his bond was revoked. He is also alleged to have lied about the money he raised for his defense through online sources.
