The Whitewater-Baldy Complex fire has burned 241,701 acres of the Gila National Forest, making it the largest fire in New Mexico history. It's also been incredibly difficult to fight against, but firefighters are now reporting that it is 17 percent contained.

Evacuated residents of nearby town Mogollon will be able to return home tomorrow. They were forced to leave their homes last Saturday.

Fire Information Officer Heather O'Hanlon also said that the containment number would be significantly better tomorrow, now that the blaze is moving to shallower terrain. The fire, which was sparked by lightning, has been burning since May 16.
