Oldest Woman to Climb Mount Everest Breaks Her Own Record
At 73 years old, Tamae Watanabe has become the oldest woman to scale Mount Everest. The previous record holder? Tamae Watanabe.
Yes, Watanabe was the oldest woman to climb Everest when she did it in 2002 at age 63. Now, 10 years later, she's climbed the 29,035 feet again. She completed her journey up today, with four other team members. China Tibet Mountaineering Association's Ang Tshering confirmed that Watanabe had again reached the summit.
Of course, now she has to climb back down.
