How to Get and Keep a Mentor
Step 1: Choose someone you admire, someone who is NOT an out-of-touch egomaniac who refers to herself as "The Brain" and thinks people should give her cash gifts everytime she forwards an email, and politely ask for a meeting.
Step 2: If the meeting goes well, keep in touch.
Step 3: Repeat Step 2, while simultaneously working hard and applying your mentor's advice.
Step 4: Congratulations, you have been mentored. If the result is career success, try not to let it go to your head. If the result is career failure, maybe consider abandoning your quest for mentorship. Sometimes successful people are clueless, too.
