America's Next Top Model Will Offer More Tyra, Less Everyone Else
Nigel Barker has been fired from his long-standing gig as judge on America's Next Top Model — and he is pissed.
When confronted by TMZ, the dashing photographer didn't mince words.
Good luck to whoever [replaces me]. I would imagine it's a tricky thing to replace someone who's going on their 19th season.
Definitely not replacing Barker: Jay "Mr. Jay" Manuel and Jay "Ms. Jay" Alexander, both of whom were also let go. Now the only constant in the Top Model universe is Tyra Banks. Oh, don't act like you're surprised.
Barker posits that the CW's attempt at revamping the series is the result of record-breaking low viewership. Some might say ANTM peaked years ago, and that any attempt at "fixing" it will only further embarrass the network. But now that Tyra's talk show is gone, where else can we turn to see her do something batshit?
For the exiled — Nigel, Jay Manuel, and Ms. Jay — Top Model's nightmarish ratings should provide some comfort. The other consolation, of course, is that Gawker's Rich Juzwiak is no longer recapping the show. Aside from the TV personalities missing their paychecks, does anyone still care?
