The Paranoid Conspiracy Theory of a T.A. Who Says Yale Is a 'Freemason' 'Sea-Monster'
When it comes to paranoia, certain environments are more fertile than others. Yale University, gothic bastion of secret societies and birthplace of the C.I.A., is among America's most fertile.
Case in point: Yale graduate student Margherita Viggiano, who has been relieved of teaching duties after distributing a PDF that laid out an elaborate Yale conspiracy theory involving freemasons, sea monsters, pacts with the devil, Catholic symbolism, and mobsters.
After losing her job as an art history T.A., Viggiano distributed a PDF of the email fight she had with the dean who fired her.
Get well soon, Margherita. We need you healthy enough to write a bestselling literary thriller about all this. [Ivygate, Ivygate, image of Yale University Art Gallery via]
