The gut-wrenching Penn State child sex abuse scandal has one, minuscule silver lining. It got stupid Ashton Kutcher to shut up on Twitter for a while.

Last night, celebrity MILF-bait Ashton Kutcher made a serious booboo when he weighed in on the firing of Penn State coach Joe Paterno, for his complicity in the Sandusky scandal. He wrote: "How do you fire Jo Pa? #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste."

Standing up for Paterno, who barely blinked when he learned his underling was a potential child predator back in 2002, is at odds with Ashton's ill-informed crusade against child sex slavery. Maybe the only thing Ashton is more passionate about than fighting child sexual abuse is college football? It's possible—who knows what goes on in his gorgeously-locked little head.

But Ashton quickly deleted the tweet, claiming he just didn't have any idea about a scandal that has been on the front page of every newspaper for days. "Heard Joe was fired. Didn't have full story. #admitwhenyoumadeamistake," he wrote. Ashton's a busy man: Those hilarious Two and a Half Men dick jokes don't memorize themselves.

Shamed, and with the internet still reeling from the revelation that a celebrity has no idea what he's talking about, Ashton is now taking time off to find a way to "properly manage this feed." Let's place bets on when he'll be back. Hm. How long does it take a person to learn how to read?

Update: Ashton Kutcher said in a blog post that he's turning over his Twitter feed—which he previously ran—to his PR team.

A collection of over 8 million followers is not to be taken for granted. I feel responsible for delivering an informed opinion and not spreading gossip or rumors through my twitter feed. While I feel that running this feed myself gives me a closer relationship to my friends and fans I've come to realize that it has grown into more that a fun tool to communicate with people.
