After a few masterfully terrible debate performances over the last couple of months, Team Rick Perry may just declare victory and skip out on the many, many remaining debates. He might have scheduling issues on those nights, you know? On all of those nights. Deal with it.

Rick Perry's spokesperson, Mark Miner, explains his team's frustrations with this format in which their candidate sucks:

"These debates are set up for nothing more than to tear down the candidates," Mr. Perry told Bill O'Reilly on Fox News. "It's pretty hard to be able to sit and lay out your ideas and your concepts with a one-minute response."

"So, you know, if there was a mistake made, it was probably ever doing" a debate, Mr. Perry added.

Yeah. Fuck 'em! Why did they even bother in the first place? Never again. The Times notes, however, that by "refusing to appear on a national stage now - after being criticized for his previous performances - he might open himself to charges that he is afraid to debate." Yes, a few people might make that criticism.
