Vincent van Gogh Was Maybe Murdered?
A new biography of Vincent van Gogh, which is getting a featured segment on 60 Minutes this weekend, posits that the post-Impressionist master didn't commit suicide by shooting himself in the abdomen, as previously believed.
Basically the authors of book say that because the bullet entered his body at an odd angle and he didn't leave a suicide note (or a suicide painting, as the case might have been), van Gogh was probably, in fact, murdered. By a friend's teenage brother who teased him a lot. So, great, Vincent Van Gogh, great master of color and expression and strange bright melancholy, was killed by some prick teenager. Terrific.
