Victim's Name Misspelled on 9/11 Memorial
The family of Jeffrey Schreier was a little miffed when they visited the newly-opened 9/11 memorial this weekend and discovered that his first name was spelled "Jeffery." And this man died in a terrorist attack. No respect!
Schreier worked in the mail room at Cantor Fitzgerald, the firm that lost the most employees during the attack, for 20 years and this is the thanks he gets. Sure, I've spelled all sorts of people's names wrong on the internet but that is easily corrected with a few strokes of the keyboard. It's not like it's engraved in stone. These names, well, they're actually engraved in stone! Those in charge of the memorial said that the mistake would be correct this week. Thank god someone named TK Williams wasn't a victim. That would have been a mess.
