Some Chinese hackers may have been reading top U.S. officials' email for a while. Google says they've thwarted a phishing campaign that targeted the Gmail accounts of politically sensitive targets.

In a blog post, Google writes that they uncovered a phishing campaign originating in Jinan, China that hit U.S. government officials, Chinese political activists and journalists. Google says "The goal of this effort seems to have been to monitor the contents of these users' emails."

There was, of course, a secondary goal: Hacking into Anthony Weiner's Twitter account and post a dick picture, thereby creating a media frenzy that would distract everyone from the Chinese battleships approaching our western seaboard.
