Nobody's Riding the Bus Any More
Get off that bus right now and "get with it," fellow New Yorkers! Nobody rides the bus any more—not even the poors.
There were 13.2% fewer trips on New York City Transit buses in 2010 than there were in 2005. Subway ridership rose 12.6% during the same period.
The MTA doesn't know why. The city's falling unemployment rate can't explain it. It just seems that everywhere you go in our fair city, people are opting to take the subway rather than the bus. The bus just isn't "cool" any more. To ride the bus these days, you'd have to be some sort of iconoclast—someone who marches to the beat of his own drummer, doesn't take any shit from the man, doesn't follow the crowd, doesn't allow himself to be manipulated by trends, someone who lives his own life exactly how he wants to live it, not like some sheep who just copies what everyone else is doing. A brave soul. A deep thinker. An artist—of life.
I hope that paragraph gets some of those Williamsburg fuckers on the bus, cause that L train is getting ridic.
