It's only Tuesday, and already former IMF chief turned accused sexual assaulter Dominique Strauss-Kahn is having a remarkably bad PR week. After yesterday's leaks alleging that his DNA was found on the alleged victim's shirt—and that he asked her "Don't you know who I am?"—this morning brings a new alleged embarrassment: a payoff attempt! Allegedly.

According to a New York Post story based on a single anonymous source (Disclaimer: "a New York Post story based on a single anonymous source"), friends of DSK have contacted the victim's impoverished family back in Guinea, and offered them a payoff to "make the case go away."

"He'll get out of it and will fly back to France. He won't spend time in jail. The woman will get a lot of money," said the source, adding that a seven-figure sum has been bandied about.

Somehow that seems unlikely.
