Intruder and Homeowner Call Police on Each Other
Police in Oregon received two calls on Monday night: One from a homeowner whose place had been broken into. And the other from the guy who broke into the house.
Lt. Kelli Sheffer says the intruder told police he had just broken into a home Monday evening when the owner arrived - and the caller was worried the homeowner might have a gun.
Apparently, the home invader—24-year-old Timothy James Chapek—locked himself in the bathroom upon being found by the homeowner. (One wonders if perhaps Mr. Chapek was engaged in recreational drug use.) But! There is a romantic comedy plot here, isn't there? We just have a vision of a harried 911 operator switching between Mr. Chapek and his homeowner friend, before realizing what's happening and having a nice laugh. And then Timothy James gets arrested.
