The night before his assassination, President John F. Kennedy attended an event for the League of United Latin American Citizens in Austin. Roy Botello took a silent film of him and his wife, Jackie, arriving at the event. After sitting in a drawer for 47 years, the footage is now on the internet.

Botello donated his tape to the Sixth Floor Museum, a Dallas institution dedicated to chronicling JFK's assassination and legacy. The museum restored the tape and posted it on the Internet so everyone could see the President and First Lady arriving and addressing the crowd. Maybe Botello should have thought twice before donating the film to a museum. Vanity Fair would have paid big money and done a cover story for the "Lost Kennedy Tapes."
