According to a new report, killer Tracy Province planned to commit 'suicide by bear' in Yellowstone park this summer while on the lam. Instead, he gave himself up. But how does one commit suicide by bear? Here's how!

Province, who was serving two life-sentences in an Arizona prison, escaped with his buddy, John McCluskey this summer, sparking a massive coast-to-coast manhunt, during which they allegedly killed an Oklahoma couple and carjacked them.

At one point while on the lam Province was feeling so fearful and panicked that he hatched a plan to commit "suicide by bear":

A convicted killer who escaped from an Arizona prison said after his capture that he had planned to overdose on heroin at Yellowstone National Park and let bears eat him to end the fear and panic he was experiencing while on the lam.

Tracy Province told Mohave County sheriff's Detective Larry Matthews that he had wanted to go up on a mountain, shoot up a gram of heroin and "be bear food." As he was preparing the drug, a voice told him not to go through with the plan, and he changed course in favor of trying to hitchhike to Indiana to see family.

"He called it divine intervention," Matthews wrote in an August report.

God truly works in mysterious ways: Takes time out of his schedule to convince a convicted murderer not to overdose drugs and let himself be eaten by bears, but can't be bothered when a giant flood threatens to destroy half of Australia? Anyway: Province is an extremely bad man who deserves to (and will!) spend the rest of his life in prison. But this is a pretty awesome way of going out, right up there with "Suicide by slowly beating yourself to death with a boxed set of Gilmore Girls while tripping on acid".
