Eric Schmidt Wants a TV Show
Google's soon-to-be-ex CEO reportedly filmed a pilot for CNN as part of a year-long effort to find a TV job. The only problem: It was really, really bad.
"The pilot he filmed... was a complete disaster," a CNN insider tells the New York Post, owned by Google-hating media mogul Rupert Murdoch. "[He] has been looking for a TV job for over a year."
Schmidt could have turned for help to one of his exes — Kate Bohner worked at CNBC, and Marcy Simon in local TV and broadcast PR — but instead he borrowed a producer from disgraced ex-governor and CNN host Eliot Spitzer. Schmidt may not have sold his project yet, but at least he found an industry where being a high-profile philanderer prone to creepy statements is absolutely no barrier to success, ever.
