Today we got all freaked out about the horror of the unkillable bedbug. Everything about bedbugs is terrifying! Including this terrible science fact from a real scientist. Be scared. Be very, very scared.

My labmate and I had a small colony of bedbugs that we caught from campus to use for education displays. It's amazing to watch them feed. They really do not like crawling on human skin. They crawl around on fabric to find some skin, then extend their rostrum to feed. That's one reason why people do not feel the feeding. They prefer not to crawl on you :)
