Shameless crook and former New York state senator Pedro Espada has always had a liberal interpretation of what he could purchase with public money: a job for his son, $20,000 worth of sushi, etc. And now: a half-finished memoir!

The NY Post reports that the FBI is investigating whether Espada illegally used public funds to pay a ghostwriter, Donald McLaren, to write Espada's memoirs. For which the world was waiting anxiously.

"I think he wanted to be a hero character in his memoir," McLaren said, adding that Espada lost interest over time and the book was never completed.

At least writers are getting a taste of that honey pot along with everyone else. Here's to Pedro, a patron of the arts!
