Typical Day In Andy Cohen's Life: Drunk Dialing Anderson Cooper
What we got from this profile of Bravo executive Andy Cohen in the Times today is that he basically is like the kid brother to every celebrity on Earth. He just goes around and makes them feel like normal people!
See, this is because he's friends with both celebrities, whom he interviews on his Bravo talk show, and normal people, whom he casts in the Real Housewives series. (In Celebrity World, "normal people" means reality show stars. It's as close as they get.) Says Amanda Baten, a psychologist and "close friend" of Andy's: "Celebrities need coddling, but they also like to think they lead normal lives. Andy's very leveling."
It must be very leveling for Anderson Cooper, who spends his evenings handsomely delivering news before millions of people, to be drunk-dialed by Andy Cohen with one of these normal people.
Mr. Cooper was once on air delivering the news when his cellphone buzzed. Checking it later, he learned that it was Mr. Cohen, drunk-dialing from the back of a car with NeNe Leakes of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," shouting, "Don't be tardy for the party!"
Celebrities: They're drunk like us!
