Google's Free Wi-Fi Promises to End Airplane Tranquility
Remember how you used to have a few hours of airplane peace before handling crushing family holiday obligations? Google has taken care of that for you again this year, bringing back its free airline Wi-Fi.
Google announced it will sponsor free Wi-Fi this holiday season on Virgin America, Delta and AirTran in order to promote its Chrome web browser, and to end the dark ages when "flying home for the holidays meant disconnecting for several hours until you touched down at your destination." In-air Wi-Fi can actually be loads of fun on an otherwise miserable flight; just remember to surf very carefully.
