Crazy Brooklyn rabbi Yehuda Levin, one-time Carl Paladino supporter, has withdrawn his backing after the Tea Partier sort of apologized for making homophobic remarks. Levin said he "almost choked" on a pastrami sandwich after hearing about Crazy Carl's apology.

Levin lashed out yesterday at Paladino, who he says "folded like a cheap camera" (huh?) in the face of criticism for his awful remarks about gays. He also said "militant gays" wrote the apology for Paladino. Levin told reporters how utterly shocked he was when he heard what Paladino had said:

I was in the middle of eating a kosher pastrami sandwich. While I was eating it, they come running and they say, ‘Paladino became gay!' I said, ‘What?' And then they showed me the statement. I almost choked on the kosher salami."

Close call! And what does the good rabbi think of Paladino's gay club-running nephew?

He discovered now he has a gay nephew? Mazel tov! We'll make a coming-out party!"

But Levin hasn't completely closed the door on Paladino:

Carl, we'll leave the light on for you. Come back, Carl.

Yes, Carl, go right back to where you belong. Deep down you know you're still a piece of shit, and Levin is waiting for you with open arms. And a kosher pastrami sandwich.
