Publisher of Nudity-Free Indonesian Playboy Jailed for Public Indecency
Indonesian Playboy publisher Erwin Arnada, who was sentenced to two years in jail for public indecency, turned himself in to authorities after he was due to surrender in August. All this trouble and the magazine didn't even show boobs.
Arnada was cleared of all charges in a 2007 trial for public indecency, after only running a few issues of a tits and ass-less Indonesian Playboy magazine. But the Supreme Court, under pressure from the Islamist Defenders Front (FPI) and other hardline religious groups, retried, and finally convicted Arnada in August. The FPI calls him a "moral terrorist." Arnada's lawyer said he wasn't arrested, as the police said, but had turned himself in because "The motion is done, therefore we are here," according to The Jakarta Post.
Hugh Hefner is hopefully picking up this man's legal bills. At least.
