A grad student at the University of Louisville College of Education was in a meeting with five faculty members yesterday when she pulled a loaded gun out of her purse and said, "I guess this is it."

In a shockingly atypical example of academia acting without a full and formal declaration of consensus by a committee, police say that the faculty members "jumped on her and took control of the weapon." They say that the armed student, who was arrested and is being mentally evaluated, wanted to kill herself.

Another student who was in a class in the same building at the time says that "We were under our desks the lights were out we were all quiet." Guess her teacher's not the hero type.

This is the most badass thing that has ever happened in a college faculty meeting.
