Spike Lee's If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise found Brad Pitt dropping a superb A Streetcar Named Desire reference and explaining how he is single-handedly organizing the rehousing of the Ninth Ward.

If God Is Willing and Da Creek Don't Rise debuted on HBO last night and examined local issues like inadequate housing and health care that have either continued or sprung up since Lee's 2006 documentary, When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts. A lot has happened—a Superbowl was won at the very least—but a lot has stayed the same. With the philanthropy and dedication of people like Brad Pitt, perhaps N'awlins can finally return to its feet.

America salutes you, Mr. Pitt and Mr. Lee.
