Gays Battle Grandpas in "California Gurls" Music Video Parody War
Once in a while—remember this?—a music video that naturally lends itself to parody is released. The most recent one is Katy Perry's "California Gurls," and—in the parody war—there are two contenders: gays and grandpas. Inside, video of both.
In the last week, two high profile "California Gurls" parody videos have begun to spread around the Internet. Let's take a look at each one.
"California Gays"
Presented by YouTube superstar Ryan James Yezak, "California Gays" takes Perry's original studio recording and pairs it with a highly produced—and highly homosexual, natch—video, full of dancing boys wearing nothing but speedos (the day of the video's release, Perry herself mentioned it on Twitter, writing, "HOLLA! TWERK!"

"California Grandpas"
"You can travel the world, but nothing comes close to this bag of bones," sings one of the geriatric leads of this "California Grandpas" parody, which features rewritten lyrics to Perry's original, performed by a couple of scantily clad pepaws.
