Deadly Boating Accident in New York Harbor Blamed on Booze

A 30-year-old New Jersey man, Jijo Puthuvamkunnath, was killed yesterday near the Statue of Liberty when his 17-foot boat was hit by a larger boat, "Reel Impulsive," that was allegedly piloted by a drunk man. Puthuvamkunnath was with his fiancé.
The pilot of the Reel Impulsive, Richard Aquilone, was arrested last night after he failed a breathalyzer test. "We couldn't get [Puthuvamkunnath] out immediately. The side of the boat was crushed in," Sgt. John Gallagher of the NYPD harbor unit told the Daily News.
