Congrats, America. We all may be fat, but we're also home to Lizzie Velasquez, the Texas woman who weighs only 60 pounds and must eat every 15 minutes to stay alive thanks to a rare condition she's had since birth.

For some reason Velasquez, a 20-year-old communications student, has become a media sensation in Britain, which has covered her story extensively in recent days. Velasquez suffers from Neonatal Progeroid Syndrome, "which causes accelerated ageing, fat loss from the face and body, and tissue degeneration." She's only one of three people in the world who has the condition. And one of its effects is that she can't gain weight.

Now she consumes between 5,000-8,000 calories a day and still can't gain a pound. "I eat small portions of crisps, sweets, chocolate, pizza, chicken, cake, doughnuts, ice cream, noodles and pop tarts all day long," she tells the Telegraph. Aside from the fact she's dealing with what sounds like a horrible illness, it sounds like she's living the American dream!
