Smarmy lie-machine Bill Kristol "reports" that the Administration will support "an effort next week at the United Nations to set up an independent commission, under UN auspices," to investigate the flotilla raid. The White House responds that Bill Kristol sucks.

Bill Kristol, a Republican operative who's made a career posing as America's most intelligent neoconservative, despite being wrong about every aspect of the Iraq war, as well as every other thing he hazards a guess at, wrote in a Weekly Standard EXCLUSIVE this morning that Obama — perhaps out of his extreme and visible hatred of Israel — will of course support the UN in its much desired lynching of Israel over its trigger-happy flotilla killing spree.

There's a classic Kristol moment here, see if you can spot it!

While UN Ambassador Susan Rice is reported to have played an important role in pushing for U.S. support of a UN investigation, the decision is, one official stressed, of course the president's. The government of Israel has been consulting with the U.S. government on its own Israeli investigative panel, to be led by a retired supreme court justice, that would include respected international participants, including one from the U.S. But the Obama administration is reportedly saying that such a "kosher panel" is not good enough to satisfy the international community, or the Obama White House.

See? He just couldn't resist implying that Obama administration officials are running around calling the more Israel-friendly suggestion a "kosher panel," all the time, as one of their constant Jew jokes that they must make all the time given their seething hatred of Israel and all Jews.

The White House responded quickly and sharply, saying Shut Up Bill Kristol:

The White House official said the administration continues to support "an Israeli-led investigation into the flotilla incident that is prompt, credible, impartial, and transparent."

"We are open to different ways of ensuring the credibility of this Israeli-led investigation, including international participation, and have been in intensive talks with our Israeli partners in the past few days on how to move forward," said the official. "We know of no resolution that will be debated at the UN on the flotilla investigation next week."

Regardless of whether you think the White House should allow the UN to take Israel to the woodshed on its own, the Obama administration, or any White House, is not very likely to sign on to such an idea so readily. Bill Kristol just enjoys worsening the Obama-Israel relationship with poorly sourced bullshit for his own personal amusement, really.
