The ruined economy might pay off for the lucky children of Klamath Falls. The county school district is considering shortening the school week to four days to save millions of dollars a year.

So the school days would be longer, but so would the weekends! These kids must be going nuts. Imagine having every Friday off, thus making Thursday night the new Friday night, forever?? So what if you're in school until five. What are you doing until five anyway? We fully support this initiative. Unfortunately for the teachers, they'd have to work on Fridays and do training sessions and things. And, uh, 380 non-faculty staff members would lose a day's pay every week. And parents would likely have to figure out paying for additional childcare, or take a day off work themselves. So... um. OK, maybe it's not perfect. But still. Three day weeeeeekend!!!
