A native of Sweden, Lundqvist is the golden-boy goalie for the New York Rangers.

Before making his way over to the NHL, Lundqvist played for Sweden's Frölunda HC, where he won the Honken Trophy for best goalie three years in a row. Although he came stateside in 2005, he didn't forget about his Swedish roots and helped lead Sweden to a goal medal in the Torino Olympics in 2006. Yet New Yorkers are appreciative Lundqvist's move the NHL: he's the only goaltender in NHL history to record over 30 wins consecutively in his first seven seasons, earning the nickname "King Henrik" from the New York media. A "butterfly style" goalie, a slightly unorthodox method because of the aggressive he performs the butterfly, he's best known for other-worldly quickness, which was rewarded in 2012 with the Vezina Trophy for the best goalie in the league.
