Lisa Anastos
Anastos is the founder of Whitney Contemporaries, a $500-a-year club that reels in the under-40 set in support of the Upper East Side museum.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and NYU Law School, Anastos has devoted her life to making art accessible to young folk—for a price. She made a name for herself in the early aughts by creating the Whitney Contemporaries, the hipper version of regular ol' patrons of the Whitney, which grants member—-for $500 a year—invitations to cocktail receptions, "select contemporary art fairs," and discounted tickets to the annual Art Party, all in the name of "championing emerging voices and artistic innovation"" She's since gone on to create ARThood, an online marketplace for emerging artists, and created her own consulting firm Anastos Advisors LLC. However, like many ladies of (some) leisure, Anastos sits on the boards of many other philanthropic organizations, such as The Watermill Center and Doctors of the World USA. [Image via Getty]
