Martha Nelson is Editorial Director of Time Inc., where she oversees the titles and editors within Time's Style & Entertainment Group and Lifestyle Group.

Nelson got her undergrad degree from Barnard and quickly leapt into the magazine publishing world with positions at Ms., Savvy, and Women's Sports and Fitness. She moved to Time Inc. in the 1990s and never looked back, first as an assistant managing editor with People. She got her big break as the founding editor of InStyle magazine, one of the most successful magazine launches in history. The rag has spawned its popular sister publications like InStyle Weddings and InStyle Entertaining, and Nelson impressed Time Inc. brass so much that they made her the editor of the People group, one of the company's most profitable divsions. At the helm, People saw unprecedented growth, and People Style Watch and People.com have become major outlets in their own right. Nelson continued to rack up accolades for Time Inc.—not to mention an "Editor of the Year" Award for herself from AdWeek—and she has since been promoted to Editorial Director of Time Inc.
