Joe Biden's Gaffes: A Foot-in-Mouth Chronology
After the health care bill became the health care law yesterday, Joe Biden dropped an f-bomb heard 'round the world. However, this was one of Biden's least egregious gaffes as it was accidental. The others are just PR nightmares.
July, 2006: "You cannot go to a 7-Eleven, or a Dunkin' Donuts, unless you have a slight Indian accent."
While thanking a young Indian man for his support of his Indian American group, Biden goes a bit too far in touting the influx of Indians in Delaware.
September, 2008: "Stand up Chuck, let 'em see ya!"
That Chuck is Missouri Senator Chuck Graham. Chuck Graham is in a wheelchair.
September, 2008: "Quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me."
During a speech on the campaign trail, Biden essentially admits that Hillary Clinton is so qualified to be VPOTUS, she would probably have been a better pick than him.
January, 2009: "My memory is not as good as Justice Roberts'."
During a ceremony where Biden was swearing-in members of the senior White House staff, Biden decided to make a joke at the expense of Chief Justice Roberts' memory, stemming from Roberts forgetting the oath to swear-in Obama on Inauguration Day. Judging from Obama's stare of absolute death, we can safely say this did not go over well.
April, 2009: "I wouldn't go anywhere in confined places now."
When talking about the swine flu epidemic with Matt Lauer on The Today Show, Biden just fuels the flames of panic, essentially telling the American public they're allowed to collectively freak the fuck out.
March, 2010: "This is a big fucking deal."
Pretty major health care reform just passed, so in his defense, it was a pretty big fucking deal.
