While the New York Times is taking a full year to get its online paywall right, Newsday—an immeasurably crappier paper—just went ahead and did that shit. How's that working out for them?

John Koblin has done some reporting on this very issue!

So, three months later, how many people have signed up to pay $5 a week, or $260 a year, to get unfettered access to newsday.com?

The answer: 35 people.

To be fair, print subscribers and Optimum Cable subscribers get website access for free, and also another thing is Newsday.com sucks balls. So any surprise is just being feigned for politeness.
