A Nation Mourns: The End of The Tyra Show
First Oprah, now Tyra. The Tyra Show, daytime television's main source for women to learn about periods, porn stars, and the danger of tacos, will air its last show next spring. So sad.
According to People, Tyra will be leaving her show to focus on her production company in an attempt to send a positive message to as many women as possible. "My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce," Banks said in a statement released to People.
And while It's hard not to applaud her efforts and commitment to bringing out the importance of a positive image to women, she needs to realize the ginormous void she's leaving behind. Here are the best moments during the show's five year run. Moments that can only be referred to as "Tyra Moments."
Tyra goes undercover as a homeless woman.
Tyra learns how gross it is to be homeless and exercises humility for a couple hours before returning to her life as a pretty millionaire.
Tyra goes undercover as a man.
Viewers learn some very important lessons in vanity as Tyra announces how she finds herself attracted to herself, taking narcissism to the next level.
Tyra makes her audience strip nekkid.
Why? Because it's Tyra's show, and if she demands that the audience take off their clothes, you better believe they will take off their clothes. This is just one of Tyra's 500 episodes about weight and body image.
Tyra interviews some primordial dwarfs.
We learn how to insult dwarfs as Tyra gives them all the smallest version of the already tiny ipod. The dwarfs are not amused.
And finally, you can kiss her fat ass.
We'll miss you Tyra. Wendy Williams, a weary nation turns its eye to you. Do not let us down.
