Bob Woodward descended from his perch to "report" some "news" everyone! Breaking: the US tortured a guy.

This is shocking news! Up until now only people who read newspaper articles and books not written by legendary journalist Bob Woodward knew the extent of US interrogation policy in the war on terror! But now it is official: the US military tortured a detainee. Specifically, a Saudi who allegedly planned to participate in 9/11 was interrogated with "sustained isolation, sleep deprivation, nudity and prolonged exposure to cold, leaving him in a 'life-threatening condition.'" You may recognize those tactics as the ones Don Rumsfeld heartily endorsed, with the help of the Justice Department and the CIA, who did the torturing of Khalid Sheik Mohammed.

All of this was reported in Time and the Post but the news here is that the judge appointed to head the post-Hamdan military trials for detainees has announced, on the record, that this torturing is the reason she will not prosecute terrorist Mohammed al-Qahtani.

Now Obama is going to close Guantanmo but no one knows what to do with all the dudes we tortured.
