Raj Rajaratnam Sells on Sutton Place
• Time to sell off assets to pay the lawyers! Raj Rajaratnam, the scandal-plagued hedge fund billionaire who was arrested for fraud last October and has since been charged with masterminding the largest insider-trading racket in decades, has sold one of the apartments he owns at 60 Sutton Place South. The 8th-floor co-op, which the Galleon Group founder bought for $1.675 million in 2008, sold to Lewis Zuchman for $1.575 million. [Cityfile]
• Investor Ephraim Gildor has closed on the sale of his duplex penthouse at the Park Laurel on West 63rd Street. Gildor put the 7,758-square-foot apartment up for sale for $28 million last year. It ended up selling for $23.98 million to Peter Edward Chadney and Simone Cecile Von Graffenried Simperl, who both reside in Switzerland. [NYT]
• Real estate investor Adam Gordon has dropped the price of his townhouse at 26 West 76th Street. The six-bedroom manse, which Gordon listed for $25 million in November 2008 and reduced to $22.5 million last October, is now listed for the bargain price of $19.5 million. [Cityfile, BHS]
• Susan Berresford, the former president of the Ford Foundation, has sold her apartment at 575 Park Avenue for $1.3 million. Back in December, Berresford paid $1.855 million for a two-bedroom co-op on East 86th Street. [Cityfile]
• Seth Waugh, the CEO of Deutsche Bank in the U.S., has sold his 4,500-square-foot oceanfront mansion in Quogue for $4.875 million. [Newsday]
