Penthouse Publisher Fired For Not Being Hardcore Enough?

A tipster writes in to say that Diane Silberstein, president and publisher of Penthouse Media Group, just got "FIRED!!!!!!!!." She was formerly the publisher of Playboy. The explanation: "She was fired because there were disputes over how 'hard' they wanted the girls to look/pose." Well then, this raises several questions. Did Diane Silberstein really get fired? Can someone confirm for us? And more importantly, how "hard" do you think the girls of Penthouse should look/ pose? We'd say somewhere between steel bar hard and diamond-tipped drill hard, but we like it hardcore. Your thoughts on these vital issues in the comments, please. [pic via MB]

That was the true dawn of the internet, (more or less) when by that time ('99/'00) everyone was getting into online porn. Penthouse stepped it up by insisting photographers submit pee-shots with the regular photo-sets. Then all the photographers had to work it out with the models for "quality" pee-shots, saying the only way for them to get into the mag - or a guaranteed way to get in - was to pee seductively (I guess) for the camera. Penthouse was losing readership anyway because they wanted to be too many things and lost its cache. Whatever. Who cares? In ten years or less they won't be producing porno-mags anyway... It's a sick business queefed in artifice and filled with scum - the days of cool people who made it something cool are gone; anyone and everyone can show their shit online - plus the lad-mags have been killing 'em for a while now. Yawn. They sure did pay their writers well, though. *sigh*

Owners know best????? NOT!!! As Publisher she was bringing in the meat (bacon). Very haaaaaard sell at best!!! Can't tell Toyota to place a spread next to a "spread." Now, hopefully, they will let that dinosaur finally die and fossilize into the annals of history. I sooo wanted to write "anals" of history in keeping with my thematic pros. ALL THE BEST TO YOU DIANE!!!

A friend of mine actually subscribed to Playboy (no, really, he did) a couple of years ago under the theory that he never could have subscribed during those ... ahem ... "developmental years" ... and, as an adult armed with a credit card, a special offer of something like 10 bucks for the entire year and broadband internet connection, he can jolly well do now whatever he pleases AND maybe even earn a free mile or two in the process. The all too frequent pictorials with Mini Hef made my friend feel as uninterested in women as an octogenarian Hef sans his daily dose of the "little blue pill."
