The second issue of the new SuicideGirls Magazine is out, and it's just as high-minded as the first, starting with the subtitle: "Anthology of model-annotated pinup photography and conversations with notable thinkers, artists and authors excerpted from the pioneering website of the same name." No, we are not making this up. Let's peek inside!

Let's see: twee ramblings, interviews with hip literary luminaries... oh my God. It's the Believer with boobs! Discussed: Feminism, Couture Tattoos, Terry Gilliam, clove cigarettes, Hello Kitty, Irvine Welsh, anime, Boobs. Interviewed: David Mamet, Chuck Palahniuk, Neil Labute, 300 director Zack Snyder...all dudes, actually! Guess the girls are saved for what they do best.

Being an alt-hottie isn't always fun and games, though. Says Suicide Girl Hera, "Someone said to me the other day that I'm an anamoly (sic)... what she probably meant, in the most simple of terms, is that I'm complicated." Quoth Nana, "Jap. Bukkake is actually very different from the crappy American one." Word.

Also included from the girls: Handwritten, mind-jarring ruminations, ranging from SG Bowie's Playboy-centerfoldish proclamation of "It's two in the afternoon and I still don't have any pants on" to the poetry of SG Binx: "When you have a broken heart, nothing else matters to you."

Actually, while there is content here, none of it is "new." As the subtitle tells us ever-so-poetically, the interviews and photos here are redundant, taken from Suicidegirls.com. Some of the interviews are several years old; for example, the Chuck Palahniuk interview was originally published on the website in 2003. Why the print version (and its $15 cover price), then? Who knows! (Oh, it's a "periodical art book," says the website). All we know is that there's not even a centerfold-girl to put up in our apartment ironically!
