With Katie Holmes' recent hiring of her "own" publicity team, we knew it wouldn't be long before the efforts of their Operation Make Katie Seem Like Any Other Totally Normal, Non-Imprisoned Working Actress started to appear in the tabloids. Phase One of the campaign is appearing in the new issue Life&Style, which apparently involves reinforcing the strength of Holmes and Cruise's relationship through public ambivalence about some harmless, on-the-job flirting:

"They shot a scene in which [Mad Money co-star Adam Rothenberg] wrapped his arms around Katie's waist, then the two of them had an intimate discussion," a "set insider" told L&S. "They lingered after the director said 'cut,' and it got everyone talking."

Cruise's rep insists that the "Top Gun" star isn't worried.

"He is very confident in his relationship with Katie and supportive of her time working on the set," she said.

"There's definitely been some off-camera flirting," the insider told the magazine, however. "One day, Katie was touching Adam's arm while they were talking, like girls do when they like somebody."

Of course, it's easy for Cruise to be so outwardly confident about Holmes' dedication to their relationship: he's got her under an iron-clad, billion-year personal services agreement with a term that increases a hundredfold should suspicions of infidelity ever be proven, guaranteeing that their union will remain intact long after the implosion of every star in our galaxy.
