Gawker Media is seeking a video production assistant to work out of its New York City office. Duties include watching a variety of television programming in search of newsworthy items, and videotaping events based in NYC throughout the week or assisting in other small video productions. The job is part-time, 2-3 days a week (hours flexible), with the chance to grow into a full-time position. Our ideal applicant would be a New York based film school or broadcasting student/recent graduate interested in low budget shooting intended for the internet. Must possess a reel demonstrating basic camera skills. Basic knowledge of iMovie, Final Cut Pro, and Photoshop a plus.
