Hipsteraunt Beatrice Inn, the West Village hotspot owned by Paul "Brother of Chlo " Sevigny, has divided opinions throughout our fair city: Some find it to be a pretentious little box full of nausea-inducing douchebags, while a couple of people like that you can smoke there. In any event, a tipster suggests that everything might not be on the up-and-up at the twatwaffle canteen:

Beatrice Inn doesn't have a liquor license.

The license they applied for is listed as "inactive." You can see for yourself on the Liquor board's public database: The license they actually applied for is a restaurant license. That does not allow you to have bottle service and operate as an exclusive nightclub in a quaint residential area. Even if you're a Sevigny.

Beatrice Inn doesn't have a working kitchen. They bring in catering. Another no-no with a restaurant license.

They're under investigation. Tell BlackBook to have a Plan B for their Christmas party.

A quick check of Manhattan Community Board 2's website yields no reference to any appearance before the board this year. So, uh, hey BlackBook, have a Plan B for your Christmas party! If you know anything more about this situation, do tell.
