Oh, Esquire, what have you done? On the Today show this morning, Esquire fashion director Nick Sullivan introduced the five finalists for the mag's Best Dressed "Real Man" in America award. The men were lauded for their use of tweeds and seersucker and praised for the fit of their clothes. Forgive us, but shouldn't the tailors be getting the award here? Or the wives and girlfriends? At any rate, the winner was a NYPD police officer (duh) who dared to wear striped grey flannel slacks and velvet jacket. Velvet, so real man.

May this forever more be remembered as the day men's magazines became just as bad as women's.
