As anyone who has watched this season of Project Runway could tell you, Michael has been a pleasant change to the general HOMOgeneity of the previous casts. They have had strong black female presences in the past, and we're pretty sure Santino wishes he had some thug in him (take it however you want), but a straight black man? You cannot help but root for him. Your liberal guilt won't allow otherwise.

So the article in the New York Times' Thursgay Styles about a new exhibition depicting the influence of black fashion designers on modern culture is decidedly of the moment. We're all about broadening horizons, supporting the arts, and the shared cultural experience so...

In the show there are pristine white Nike and Adidas shoes paired with outfits from urban labels like Dapper Dan, FUBU, Rocawear and Phat Farm. The walls are to be lined with images of Run-DMC, Jay Z, Mr. Combs and Beyonc , some from blaxploitation films like "Superfly."

Okay. We may be very, very white, but we are not paying admission to see the wardrobe from Sucka Free. Not unless Beyonce is wearing it and she wants to take us out so deep where we know we can't swim. Then, maybe. As long as it doesn't interfere with our brunch plans.
